Michelle Bennett
A Birkdale businesswoman is hungry for success after revealing plans to develop her business, The Express Kitchen.
37-year-old Michelle Bennett, already delivers sandwiches six times a week to other
businesses across Lancashire and Merseyside and now she is looking to sell directly to
the public from her premises on Liverpool Road.
Michelle, a single mother-of-seven, first came to Train 2000, the Centre for Women's Enterprise and Employment in 2003 for help and advice and is delighted at the success of her business and believes that becoming self-employed is one of the best things she has ever done.
She said:
"Being my own boss is fantastic, when I get up in the morning I genuinely look forward to going to work, over the last couple of years my business has really grown, but I still enjoy doing everything myself from driving round in my van delivering the sandwiches to doing all the books and paperwork.
And, the fact that I have seven children means that I am generally very busy, but having my own business allows me to manage my work around my home life. All the children are delighted that I run my own business and they love helping me out with it."
Michelle's children age in range from just 4-years-old to 19.
She added:
"Up until now, I have just sold the sandwiches to other businesses but I am looking to expand by opening up my premises on Liverpool Road, so that I can sell directly to the public as well.
This will be an exciting new venture for me and I am really looking forward to developing my business further. Over the past couple of years I have received continued support from Train 2000 which has helped me immensely.
As a mother-of-seven I am a successful businesswoman and I truly believe that if I can do it, anyone can."
